He's a grizzly bear of a man.

Typically not my type, but I’ve reconsidered. Misty and I went to see Marc Broussard in concert on Saturday. He and his band mates put on one hell of a show. And I walked away with a little crush. Grrrrrr…

First of all, if you don’t know who he is, you will. VH1 named him a “You Oughta Know” artist, not to mention he already has quite the following. The Louisiana native – who credits his father (Boogie Kings’ guitarist Ted Broussard), Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight and Prince as musical influences – has charisma and raw sex appeal. And that voice! The man has range – going from soul to rock to blues. When Misty asked me what I thought, the only way I could think to describe him was a grizzly bear. I swear… it’s a huge compliment! And how can you not love a man who sings barefoot on a red shag rug? I say again, “Grrrrrr…”

(The other acts that night deserve a mention too. Kudos to the The Gabe Dixon Band and Sons of William on a great job.)

If that’s not it, then what the hell do I have tattooed on my ass?!?!

I’ve been thinking about getting my third and final tattoo so I did some research and found out something interesting. So I always thought I had the Chinese symbols for “strength” and “determination” tattooed on my lower back. Strength (left) is a common character so no problems there, but while looking up determination I realized that’s NOT what I have. In actuality, I have the symbol for “will” (above right) – as in “of free will.” Thank God I’m OK with that. I’ll definitely pay more attention this time around.

My sissy, Kylie, and her fiancé are coming down for the weekend to visit before they go onto Myrtle Beach. I’m excited because she’s the last one from the immediate family not to have seen the new place. (Plus, I finished the dining room curtains so I want to show them off.) I’m not sure what we’ll be doing (they’re not much for preplanning), but it should be fun.

Misty’s dog, Alex, comes to me when he wants to play fetch. I know it’s petty, but HER dog would rather play with ME. Take that!
